Robin, I was at a Mothers day tea party with my daughter and took a picture to send to my husband. His eyes drifted to the table behind us where the lemon squares were!! HAHA! I knew it was time to give them a try after that. So happy to find this recipe. If you try this recipe, let me know how it goes for you.

Kenya, they were really good. They used only fresh lemon juice, which surprised me because I thought it was made with lemon filling (kinda why I waited so long to make them). Hope you make them, and enjoy!

This sounds delicious! I ‘ve been making lemon squares for years, my grandma’s recipes, they are one of my favourite desserts.

    • Reply jennifer.enoch27@gmail.com 2017 at 8:19 PM

I feel like as soon as you say “it’s my grandma’s recipe” …whatever it is, it’s already awesome!

  • Reply Amy Ray 2018 at 7:19 PM

step 4 says to add flour and sugar. It doesn’t seem like flour should be in the filling. Is that correct? If so how much?

    • Reply Jen E. 2018 at 4:52 PM

Hi Amy, yes there should be flour (1/4 cup, which I’ve updated – thanks for pointing me to that). The flour in this recipe is to help thicken the eggs, sugar and lemon juice mixture as it bakes. Enjoy.
