Easy Homemade Bread
Aahhh Pinterest! Pinterest gets me.
After a day filled with learning, doing, and retaining more information than I planned on, I just want to relax, be visually stimulated, and mindlessly scroll away. However, as you may or may not know, I’ve also been on a mission to actually begin accomplishing some of these crafty ideas and recipes, not just virtually hoard them.
For some time now I’ve been wanting to make my own bread. Gasp! I know, complicated. Lately (over the last few years), I become increasingly aware and want to know more of what’s going in my families bellies, and I want to be able to control the ingredients. But here’s another piece of “getting to know you” fact about me, if I need fancy equipment, then I’m not doing it. I’m just being honest. As soon as I click on a recipe I scroll to the bottom, look at the ingredients and the equipment needed. If I have to buy groceries that I may never use again, or need anything other than basic equipment, I immediately decide not to do it.
Back to bread. I’ve tried a few recipes and I found one that I’ve finally been able to follow and have it turn out deliciously! Like I said, I love that I didn’t need a fancy bread maker, or even a mixer (although I have one, and I used it). If you follow this recipe then you’ll know that you can just mix the ingredients by hand.
For me, this is the first step in eliminating some white flower (glutens) from our diets. I need to go one step at a time though. I want to know that I can make the product, then once I feel comfortable to move on, I can adjust the product.
Here’s the bread recipe from Sandra’s Easy Cooking
*I want to add a note to be careful on the salt, I went on the lower side the second time around and it was much better than the first time.
Ya’ll I was so excited to accomplish this! I’ve been wanting to do this for so long, but it sounded a lot harder than it actually was! Please, share with me if you know of any good gluten free bread. Because I want the best of both worlds! Don’t worry bread, I’ll never give up on you-not like Rose did to Jack on that huge door that was definitely large enough for two people, c’mon Rose! I digress. Gluten free recipes please!

Bread and I have a love hate relationship. I love it…but baking it turns me into a monster. This sounds like a recipe I could use!
Colleen, your best bet is to do your first attempt at baking bread while nobody’s around, because bread is a must! I promise this recipe to so simple everyone will remain happy.
I really want to make more bread! Your loaves look so delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe and your tips.
This is a recipe that will have you making it everyday. I wondered how it was possible that some say they never buy bread anymore, but after trying it, I totally get it!
I make all of our own bread, rolls buns etc. Somedays I use my kitchen aid other days it just feels good to get in there with my hands and knead away. Great you are making homemade bread can’t be beat.
Candy you’re one of those ladies that I marveled at. I wondered “how is it possible to never shop for bread again?” But now I get it. Baking bread is so rewarding and now, so simple!
I’ve always wanted to make bread but I was too intimidated. I may have to try this one!!

Oh yeah, Krysten, there is definitely something special about making it at home. It’s the sprinkle of “I made that” and a dash of pride-ha! It’s so rewarding.
YES!!! I am pumped about this recipe! So my son is in love with bread! Seriously….. I have to wait and give him bread at the end of our meals because it is literally all he wants! We are a bread eating family!
Mary my kids gobbled it up! You’ve gotta try this recipe and let your son help. You’ll both be so proud of yourselves, it feels good knowing that you’ve prepared something from scratch for your family.
I have never made bread but I have wanted to try my hand at it for awhile now. Yum, that looks good! I am saving the recipe, thank you for sharing.

HAHA!! Carb life it the best life!
Bread is amazing, I agree! This recipe looks so easy. I like to make bread with my toddler and this looks like a perfect recipe for kids, too! We are going to give this a roll! (Get it? Roll? Haha.)
Oh Brittany-I get it *wink! You’re right, though-I let both my kids help (because I made a few batches) and they were thoroughly impressed with themselves. Now about those rolls…I bet I could make dinner rolls and freeze them!
This looks really good…i’m tempted to try it
Jasmine, you can totally do this! That’s why I shared, because I knew if I could do it, then I need to let everyone know that homemade bread is a possibility for us all-YAY!
I’ve never made my own bread before!! It looks so fluffy and delicious!
Looks delicious. I so want to try and do this. If I see that a recipe looks easy I’m all for it lol plus a big bread lover too
Hey Erika! this was the easiest recipe I could find. For me, starting with the basics is best, then I can build from there. This was simply the easiest, you’ll be so happy you tried. And the best part is the ingredients and the time spent is so little, that if something does go wrong (which it won’t) you won’t feel completely defeated!
This looks so delicious! It’s been a few years since I’ve baked any traditional bread, but I need to give it another shot!
oh Rachel, it was so good. I had no idea it could be this easy. Give this one a whirl, you’ll love it!
