Reset: My Fading Fire
It’s time to Reset, have you heard of this movement? The question is “Jesus, will you reset my…” (Fill in the blank). So, I’m asking myself, what do I need to be reset? And here’s what I truly need;I’m praying for God to reset my fire, and give me a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit.
Often, when we first recognize God in our lives and hear of the amazing life and salvation offered through the death of Jesus, we become what people call “on fire”, meaning we have a fresh purpose, zest, and enthusiasm about what we’ve just learned. We can’t hold it in, we’re bursting and we want to share it with everyone we know. Sadly, over time that fire begins to dwindle and get smothered. Not for lack of love, or care, but just because life all around us continues on, and so we have to keep up. Our priorities get mixed up and out of order.
I want to be on fire again! I want people around me to be influenced or at least curious as to what I know. I want to be renewed, refreshed and reinvigorated. I want to burst with love, compassion, and concern for the salvation of those I love.
I also want a rekindling of relationship. I want to draw so near to God, once again, that I’m leaning on Him for every move I make. I need to get quiet and personal with Him. It’s impossible to understand a love that gives your only son the choice to sacrifice himself; impossible to understand choosing to endure what Jesus did to offer an opportunity at salvation. Understand this; Jesus would have gone through all that hurt and pain for just you. He did it knowing that people would still turn their back on him and his gift. How can I not spend my days thanking Him and wanting to be filled with that love?
“Father, fill me with fresh anointing. Rekindle the fire that has faded, fill me with a fire that burns to tell of your love. I desire to fulfill your calling on my life. I desire to share what I have, with all I have. Please, let me be effective for your Kingdom.”
“Reset Movement is partnering with other campaigns that are all working towards Together 2016.”
“Together 2016 (7-16-16) is the day our generation will meet on the National Mall to come together around Jesus in unified prayer, worship, and a call for catalytic change.”

Powerful words Jen. Thank you for sharing! It’s so easy to become apathetic but our heavenly Father requires and deserves so much more from us.
Yes, thank you. I don’t want to be complacent anymore. I want to be all He wants me to be. Whatever I imagine I can be, is nothing compared to what He created me to be…Fire is what I need!
[…] I realized that since I made the request to God to refresh me and fill me with His Holy Spirit (Click here to read about it!), it seems that the small things are trying to bring me down-but I know where that’s coming from. […]
