Today I’m helping you & the kids get through the rest of the summer with some simple recipes and crafty activities. Today’s post is packed with what you need to get through the rest summer with ease.
OK, so summer’s coming to an end…YAY FALL! Sorry, fall is kinda all I ever think about. I’ve put together some fun crafts, recipes, and more to help you coast out of summer and ease your way into the next season. I’ve got some giveaways, and other neat stuff I’m working on to get ready for September. But until then, hit up some of the craft store sales. Right now is a perfect time to stock up on your Autumn decor & DIY pieces.
Keepin’ busy with simple CRAFTS
Tina over at Dream Free Art has a super cute way to dress up your kids bathroom with these DIY Emoji shower curtains. Who knew creating a shower curtain was so easy. This is a great project to get the kids involved & keep their little hands busy.
Oh, and this craft is right up my alley. Heather re-purposed some old valentines cards and made cake toppers, WHAT!? Such a great idea, who doesn’t love saving money. Think outside of the box, this doesn’t have to be leftover Valentines cards, it can also be whatever you have laying around from any celebration.

When there’s NOTHING LEFT TO SAY & Summers just about over…
OK, I don’t know about you, but the stories my kids tell go on and on. Then, just when you think you’ve listened to all you can tolerate…THEY. START. OVER! I’m sorry, I love them dearly, I love hearing what they have to say and what they’re thinking. But sometimes I just can’t handle another round of “remember when”. I’m so excited to share with you my dinner time secret weapon! Moms & Dads, listen when I tell you, this free printable has been used at my house all summer. A HUGE shout out to my friend Carlen over at Real Mom’s Winging It & big thank you for coming up with tons of great questions to get the kids thinking outside the box when you’re just too pooped to think any for yourself.
NO lie, I have these conversation starters right on our dinner table. I don’t have to think about it, I just pick one out and let the kids take over. While you’re over there, check out her Podcasts for kids, another great list to get you through the rest of the summer. I love her site, she’s got a lot of really great learning & parenting resources. Check her out, you’ll love what she’s sharing. You can also scroll below to see what she’s up to.
RELAX before full on crazy starts
I’m pretty sure I know the layout of the entire year by now. I know what I can expect and how crazy things can get. So one last intentional month is just about enough to relax with some good books. Depending on the type of read you like Brittany at A Mama Tale has you covered. She’s put together a list of some books to help you slip into relax mode as you drift into another world …even if just for a bit. End of summer beach trips are a great opportunity to grab a good book, a cold drink and lounge around soaking up the sun!
Brittany’s also sharing some of her teaching & mommy lessons. Check out her board below for some great reads to help you & the kids as you ease back into the school year.
PLANNING for a new school year
Last year I made a resolution to get more organized, and for a first timer I’ve been doing pretty good. Needless to say though, I’m no expert on the matter….but Terryn is! Over at Just a Simple Home, she’s got some great (and super pretty) resources to help you get on track and start the school year off right.
She’s kinda my goal when it comes to getting myself more organized…and I love cute stickers, I don’t know what it is, but I love ’em! Oh, and she’s got a YouTube page so you can watch her set up planner…again #organizationgoals!

Planning to FEEL better
Because it’s the end of the summer, and there’s so much to juggle I tend to forget about taking care of myself. So for the last month of the summer, I’m stepping away from my social media a bit. I just need time to relax for a bit and get prepared for the upcoming school year. I’m trying to regain my sanity & balance, with that comes the need to focus more on myself. I’m following Kristen over at Leggings and Lattes & on social media. I find that seeing her feed serves as great reminder that Yes, mom’s can actually focus on themselves while stilling momming. She’s got determination and reading her posts will help inspire you to push on!
