About Me & My Site
I have a story to tell, and it begins and ends with God. The in between, well that’s a little more complicated, as life usually is. I grew up never really knowing God, but that didn’t stop Him from knowing and loving me. He has always been with me, even when I had no idea. Then as an adult, my husband (then boyfriend) and I loved the Lord, we just didn’t fully LIVE for Him. But God had a planned out life for us that we couldn’t have imagined and we weren’t living up to. So, as only He can, He closed the doors that led us away from Him, and began to lovingly guide us down the narrow hall that brought us into the fullness of His presence. Through our ups & downs God showed us how to have faith, and how to trust Him. He showed us what real loves looks like and what real peace feels like. These are the lessons we’ve learned, and I want to share with you. I want to share hope, the kind that comes from putting your faith in a God who designed you to be victorious, no matter what your current situation is.
I’m now a woman totally in love with God. I’m finally pursuing Him as the leader of my life, and putting Him at the front of my marriage and mothering.
About My site
- Wife-ing & Walking
I don’t know what a perfect marriage looks like. Not just because my parents weren’t able to work it out, but because there is no formula for a perfect marriage. We’re fallen people loving fallen people. Mistakes are pretty much part of the package of learning & loving each other. Again I say, my husband and I are learning to walk behind the Lord, letting Him take the lead in all aspects of our lives. I’m no expert and have no desire to tell you how to handle your marriage. All I can talk about is what I know of what the Bible says, and how we’re striving to do our best. I’m occasionally sharing some strong convictions as I feel led to, and you’ll find those posts here on The Giggles & Grace tab.
This is also where you’ll find what I’m sharing about the journey towards drawing near and amazing stories of His grace and redemption!
- Mothering (or as Beverly Goldberg’s children would describe it) “S-mothering”
We’re doing the best we can to raise these snuggle muffins to know their purpose and identity in Christ. I’m taking what I’ve learned and didn’t learn growing up and using it as the foundation to teach from.
I’m learning new things about God all the time, and since I don’t have any experience in christian parenting to draw from, I’m always looking for ways to simplify and teach what I’m learning to my children. Come along for the ride, let’s share some tips & giggles. Take a look at some lessons we’ve been teaching “these little lights of mine”.
- Cooking & Crafting
What can I say…I love Pinterest. I’m making an effort to not just virtually hoard all those crafty ideas and yummy recipes, I actually want to give them a whirl. Here’s hoping we don’t have too many fails, cause “ain’t nobody got time for that”…or money for that (let’s be honest)! Take a look at these “Pinteresting” ideas.
A Final Note
You know, at the end of the day I really just want to connect with you. I want you to know that we all go through trials & you’re not alone. That, no matter what you’re going through, you’ve gotta hold on. God’s showing you how to see beyond your sight, trust beyond your understanding, and have faith beyond your knowledge. I’d be honored to encourage you through your valleys and celebrate with you in your mountain top victories.
I believe with all that I have in me, that God wants me to share my family’s journey from homelessness to hope. Not to glorify our efforts, to tell of what we accomplished, or pat ourselves on the back; But because we never could have planned, orchestrated & so perfectly lined up events the way God did. I share to provide hope & encouragement to those facing a long road. I share so you’ll know that in the pain, there’s a plan. I share because there’s a truth that needs to be told.
I pray this is a place of connection, encouragement, community & sisterhood. Our struggles can make us feel alone. However, though our heavenly Father, we’re family, so let’s lift each other up. We all have a story to tell, grab some coffee, and let’s get to chatting.
You’ll mostly find me over on Instagram as With.Giggles.And.Grace
